Product Description
This product is an answer to every gamer that was looking for the performance of the Avago 3310 sensor in an ergonomic mouse. The new ec1-a and ec2-a series keeps the same shape and size from the original EC series and introduces the Avago 3310 sensor just like the FK series. After releasing mice with different surfaces, ZOWIE gear understood that most people prefer the coating used in the FK and EC EVO CL lines and as such the new EC line will also use this coating. The mouse is plug and play (no drivers needed) and has a low-lift off distance, signature features of all ZOWIE mice.

The next thing that is outstanding is the switches. This is my first time using Huano switches, and I must say they provide a very solid, tactical feel. It's like making the switch from a membrane to a mechanical keyboard. With these switches, I doubt I will ever missclick again. That being said, if you play games where you have to spam click, your fingers might get sore after a while. A lot of people complained about the LED light and the colors that come with it, one for each DPI setting. I personally don't mind because every piece of gaming equipment I have has some sort of LED lights so it isn't really that much of a distraction/problem for me.
The shape of this mouse is very reminiscent of a Razer death-adder (I own the 3500 DPI version, which had two feet brake off in 6 months) except it seems to fit my hand much better, making long gaming sessions more comfortable. The feet/brakes on this mouse seem to slide perfectly on my SS Qck, So much so that it actually surprised me the first time I used it. It also comes with an extra set of feet, something not included with most other mice in the price point/category. Another thing to talk about is the grip. Some people don't like the grip on this mouse, saying it will eventually erode. Personally, I tend to get sweaty hands when gaming, and the anti-sweat grip they've implemented seems to stick to my hand perfectly. That fact, the lightness of the mouse, and the superior feet are probably what contribute to the super slick gliding that you get with this mouse as opposed to other mice.
I had never previously heard of Zowie, and I had tried a couple different mice before finally settling on this one. I went through a Razer Chroma , a Steel Series Rival (I liked the sensor, but not the shape/grips), and a Logitech g502 (a little too heavy + button near thumb was annoying). I finally decided to take a chance and go for this one, considering the positive reviews.
The only real con I can think of would be the scroll wheel. It isn't really that great... Not that there's anything wrong with it per se, but it just seems like they used cheap parts to construct that part of the mouse.
TL:DR It's a great, accurate mouse and if you have the money buy it.
Eventually, my sensor stopped working, and I was forced to move on. That was about a year ago, and while I haven’t returned to the EC2-A, it definitely offered a great experience.
My only gripes with this mouse are the side buttons and scroll wheel. It really feels like they were afterthoughts. Both side buttons depress into the mouse way too much and are extremely mushy and not at all tactile. The scroll wheel also feels mushy and is quite loud. The material on the scroll wheel is OK, but it can feel slippery at times, especially after you’ve owned the mouse for a while.
This mouse definitely couldn’t be considered light, but it’s a good medium weight that isn’t too unpleasant to use. It won’t hinder your gameplay or general use too much, but a lighter mouse does make it easier to react to in-game stimuli faster.
If anything, I’d recommend this mouse for its shape alone. Even though there are plenty of mice that try to copy it, this mouse is legendary for a reason. I hope they continue to refresh this shape along with the others. Well done.
Shape: The hump is in just the right spot and for my palm grip it sits right under the top of my knuckles. This makes it feel very easy to control and move with your hand. The left side is curved so my thumb has a nice groove to hold the mouse and it never feels like it is slipping or moving. There is a slight ledge formed below the side buttons and I have never accidentally hit the back and forward buttons. The right side is also slightly curved and is sloping so it allows both my ring and pinkie finger to sit naturally and offer even more control and grip on the mouse. The back end sits very close to the mat and is rounded enough to allow my palm from thumb to pinkie to hold the back of the mouse. Overall it is my favorite feeling mouse to use and I am more accurate using it than any other mouse even the smaller logitech g303. It is hard to describe properly besides saying that it just feels like I can naturally aim this more accurately and it feels like I am controlling the mouse more with my fingers and knuckles than the palm of my hand.
Buttons: The left and right click feel solid and crisp, very easy to rapidly click either. They take enough pressure where I don't have a problem with accidental clicks but they are smooth and easy enough to depress. They have small grooves towards the center so your fingers won't be prone to slipping towards the sides. One slight gripe is the front left and right click pad don't extend all the way to the edge of the mouse so there is a slight ledge you can feel if you have your fingers draped all the way over the mouse. It takes an unusual grip style to feel this but it is there. The left back and forward button travel a little farther than I like so they feel a little mushy compared to other mice but still have a nice solid click. They are very light to press. The scroll wheel is my biggest complaint about this mouse. The material is very rubbery and soft and it has less steps than any other mice I own so it scrolls slower. It is a very stiff wheel between each step but that makes it great for gaming where you switch weapons by scrolling one click which is very easy to do.
Material: The mouse material is a slick soft plastic over the entire body. There is no separation of the mouse buttons so it feels very smooth in the hand. It is easy enough to grip and feels very soft, I have had no problems with slipping or feeling like it is hard to control. I have noticed that it gets warm easier than other mice, I have very hot hands but even I don't have a problem with it making me sweat.
Lastly the weight is around 93 grams so it feels effortless to move. After using it for a while and getting used to the shape, as you do with all mice, it really feels just like an extension of my hand.
I wish they would update and change the scroll wheel and side buttons, even on the newer models these are still the same. They have fixed the mouse buttons not reaching the full length of the mouse when depressed on the brand new models and white version, I think you would have to order through their website to get one of those since the one I received from amazon still had this issue I think amazon still has a supply of the 'older' version mice. I ordered mine about 4 months ago and wanted to use it extensively before reviewing it. So far there have been no quality issues and the mouse has held up perfectly from almost daily use. It does come with extra mouse feet in the box which is really nice in case you like to use hard mouse pads that destroy mouse feet quicker. I use soft pads and so far there has been no noticeable change in the mouse feet, I can see little surface scratches but it hasn't changed the feel of the mouse and how easily it glides. Other than those minor gripes this is an amazing mouse shape and I feel more accurate using this mouse than any other. Great choice for any gamer especially fps players and those who favor performance over flash and RGB lighting.

Only minor issues might be the two side buttons seem to need to be depressed a little far for my liking but that is personal preference, could also be just a bit heavier for its large size (almost the same as the Rival) but once again that is down to preference and its still a good weight. Great simple workhorse type gaming mouse.
