The first thing I noticed is the build quality. This thing is heavy. Super heavy. I don’t know if that necessarily means it’s built well, but they convinced me regardless. The board and the keys seem very durable and structurally sound. No part of this seems flimsy or cheaply built. The rear height is adjustable with metal flippable legs.
Probably my favorite thing about this keyboard is the way the keys texturally feel and press. Each key is slightly concave, so your fingers kind of stay in the little groove and lock it in place. They also feel really good. They feel almost rubbery. As a gamer, this is all very helpful in keeping your fingers where you want them to be and not slipping over to keys nearby. They are extremely quiet and make almost no sound at all. If you’re after a super clicky and mechanical feel, this board isn’t it. They do “click”, but it’s a smooth, dampened press.
The lighting is pretty good. There are 7 or 8 options, nothing too fancy. Solid RGB and white, a smooth transition, a fast transition and a blink. You can adjust the brightness, which I really like. It can get very dim or very bright depending on your preference.
The keyboard just feels really good. It seems like a good quality piece of hardware and is texturally and ergonomically solid. It also seems to be improving my FPS gameplay. It could just be a coincidence, but stats don’t lie.

I wanted something that could fit the best of both worlds and while I would’ve liked to shell out money for another mechanical keyboard. I wasn’t sure about taking the risk after my last Razer purchase. It was good while it lasted, but my old Logitech G105 lasted longer than it.
This keyboard feels like the perfect marriage with membrane and mechanical. I can only wonder how it could evolve overtime if they keep it up. I know that mechanical keyboards are all the rage, but so far I think this is a good buy for people who are coming into gaming keyboards that want a cheap price tag.
It might not be clicky (annoying for people around you), but it feels great to use. It’s not mushy like common keyboards. To be honest, I almost can’t tell the difference between this one and a mechanical keyboard aside from the rubber feedback.
My only gripe about it is the lack of macro keys, but it vastly makes up for it with its gaming software “Steelseries Engine.” It works perfectly better than Razer’s “Made by gamers for gamers” software “Razer Synapse.”
You’re not forced to make an account to use it. It’s very responsive and doesn’t lag. Plus, it won’t bug out one of your macro commands and force it to linger despite setting the key to “Repeat while pressed.”
I give this keyboard a solid recommendation for anyone in need of a cheap gaming keyboard as of right now. Although, if I do come up with some issues later down the line I'll be sure to let you know.
[Previous Keyboard Storytime]
My Razer keyboard still works, but the problem is that the key or switches are worn to the point that it registers multiple times even for a single stroke. For example if I press the B button once: “BBBBB” It will do that.
It’s incredibly frustrating when writing, searching up things, chatting, and more. However, I also hear that problem is just mechanical keyboards in general and while I’ve only had one mechanical keyboard to experience that. I don’t plan on doubling down to see if it happens again with another one.
I’ve had the Razer Blackwidow since 2014-2015 and stopped using it when it started doing that after a year or two. I definitely did not use it in 2017 due to how frustrating it was.
I bought my Logitech G105 in 2013 only to stop using it after buying my Blackwidow. It works perfectly fine, but it doesn’t feel great to game with.
